
I dunno, I mean the Pokedex uses the assets of the game already with the sprites/3D models and textures, and what they only need are the text which if found difficult, could've been taken from the entries from past games (preferably from those that hasn't been used that much before).

I know laziness has been brought up lately about the production of Sword & Shield, but isn't it fair to say it's plain lazy for them not put the literal National Dex in the first place in those games? It's kinda funny because in the anime Rotom Dex can read almost any Pokemon including mythicals, and yet the Rotom Dex - who has an advanced AI being part Pokemon and all - has less total knowledge than the Gen 3 games (and only bit more if it's the USUM one). I haven't really been catching up on Pokemon during Gen 7 (and even some of Gen 6) until I saw a gameplay of Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, but it's only through the Dexit debacle that I read there was also no National Dex in those games.
